In Ev’s Memory

Everett (Ev) McDonough was the heart of our Library Friends while also devoting his time to Rotary, the Presbyterian Church, Tehama Concert Series, St Elizabeth’s Development Board, PETS and Tehama TaxAide.

He was a library supporter and Treasurer of the Friends of the Library for many years. Sadly, he passed early this year, but his legacy lives on within the library. In his honor, the Tehama County Friends of the Library made a $1000 donation on 7.24.2023. This is intended to be used to purchase new children’s books to add to the library collection. Lucia Capraro, the new Youth Services librarian, stated that the whole library is “so appreciative to have an opportunity to honor Ev’s memory by building our children’s collection. In doing so, we hope to inspire in a new generation the same love of reading, the library and our community that Ev himself felt.”

The Friends of the Tehama County Library are a volunteer organization dedicated to strengthening the library’s services and resources. They are an amazing part of our library system that help provide services and resources to our community. If you are interested in becoming a member of the friends: Click here.
