How Do Early Bird A.K.A Self-Service Hours Work?

This is made possible via a comprehensive technology system called Open Plus. This technology has been around for 15 years and has been widely used in Europe. The Tehama County Library will be one of the first libraries in North America to utilize this technology to expand our hours of service. Access: Only patrons who have a valid library card.

Access: Patrons must be 18+ and have opted in for Early Bird a.k.a Self-Service hours will be able to use this service. They must use their own library card and pin to access the building.

Monitor: Camera surveillance will provide peace of mind for patrons and deter theft/vandalism.

Messages: A sound system will deliver messaging to patrons during their visit. Patrons agree to follow the guidelines provided by the messaging.
